Metroelectro is the second line extension of Soma Beverage, the makers of Metromint mintwater. Soma Beverage was formed in 2004 by Rio Miura and Scott Lowe in a loft in San Francisco’s South of Market district (SOMA). Miura was born in Japan and has a background in product and fashion design. She is behind product conception and package design. Lowe, a Stanford graduate with a degree in International Relations, is responsible for product development and manufacturing.

Combining the purest ingredients with innovative packaging and extraordinary taste, Metromint single-handedly created a new beverage category called mintwater. Metromint already has a loyal following. Four years in the making, Metromint was introduced to the public at the New York Fancy Food Show in 2004. Since then it has been flying off shelves. In 2004 Peppermint won BevNet’s best new product award. And in 2006 Spearmint won a Best New Beverage Award at the Natural Products Expo West.

Metroelectro will be officially released at the New York Fancy Food show this July, 2008, and is expected to have prominent distribution by 2009.
